The Basics
ATV Hare scrambles races are held on private closed courses that typically are between 2 & 6 miles. Each race is 1 to 1.5 hours long and begins approximately at 8AM. Tracks consist of rugged terrain and obstacles including woods, hills, rocks, ruts, water and mud similar to Michigan ORV trails. Some races may also include motocross track sections.
Racers enter a rider class based on ability or ATV type and compete for trophies as well as season points.
All races are “dead engine” starts, when the race official drops your class start flag, you start your ATV and begin racing.
Who can race and what are the rider classes?
ATV hare Scramble racing is open to men, women and youth 13 and older. Family and friends are welcome at the races to cheer you on and capture all the great racing action with cameras and camcorders.

What equipment and memberships you need for your first race
Racers are required to have a DOT approved helmet and goggles. You will also need a 3” X 3” class color sticker which is placed on the rear center area of your helmet. Class color stickers are available at the races for free. A helmet barcode, used for scoring each lap, is also required and available for purchase at the race. ATV’s must be equipped with a tether engine kill switch.
